Guest Room Tips

The holiday season is just around the corner! A time of year that involves lots of friends, family, guests and for most – travelling. If you are not travelling over the holidays chances are you have a guest room for those who are. Here are a few great and simple tips on how you can spruce up your guest bedroom to make your family & friends feel right at home!

Fresh and Colourful

Brighten up the room by going to the grocery store or local florist and picking up some fresh flowers and pop them in a colourful vase.

Plush as Possible

The best thing a guest bedroom can offer is a good night’s sleep. High thread count, cotton sheets, a large duvet and multiple fluffy pillows can make a big impact!

Timing

Add a clock/alarm beside the bed to ensure your guests always know what time it is and don’t miss any family/holiday festivities.

Toiletries

Add a basket of towels, robes, slippers and extra blankets so guests feel like they have everything they need to freshen up. Everyone usually forgets to pack one thing so add some essentials to the nightstand, like toothpaste or mouthwash. If the guest bedroom has an ensuite keep it stocked with shampoo, conditioner and soup.

Make Sure There’s a Mirror

If there’s not a mirror on the dresser add one to the wall. This way guests can feel at home touching up make-up, putting on jewelry, changing clothes etc. If you are low on bathrooms this will also making mornings less hectic, since they will have their own space to get ready.

Help Yourself

If you have an extra coffee maker or Keurig, try putting it in the guest room with some tea and coffee. If you don’t have an extra one and have lots of overnight guests, it would be a great investment. This will make your guests feel relaxed being able to enjoy their coffee before getting dressed for the day.

I hope you have found these tips helpful and your guests feel right at home this holiday season!
